GUMOTEX, akciová společnost, is the succession company of the enterprise that set up its business with the production of protective clothing made from rubberized textile in 1950. Since 1952 it has acted as and independent company under the name GUMOTEX. Initially it manufactured surface treated rubberized materials, later it launched the manufacture of inflatable products for sport and leisure time e.g. air mattresses and inflatable boats. A big production expansion came up with the polyurethane foam production in the 60s and 70s of the last century when the customers from the furniture and automotive industry became the main business partners of the company.
We are the biggest domestic manufacturer of bed mattresses with rich experience and a long-time tradition. Our priority is the satisfaction of customers therefore we offer to our customers the possibility to choose mattresses made to their measure. A wide range of accessories for bedrooms is a part of the program for healthy sleeping including service and consultancy when choosing the appropriate mattress. For automobiles, we supply foam parts, e.g seat and head rest padding, damping EPP parts for the bumpers and door panels, further sun visors, handgrips for gear levers and other car interior parts. Apart from that we deliver rubber blends for automobile mats and for other applications. For subcontractors as well as for internal needs, we produce a wide range of surface treated technical textiles that are the basis for the manufacture of inflatable mattresses, products for sport and leisure time, e.g inflatable boats and rafting boats. The manufacturing program is completed by many special products for rescue and humanitarian aid actions, e.g. inflatable tents, decontamination showers and boxes, life rafts and other elements of the integrated rescue systems.
In 1991 the company GUMOTEX has been transformed into a joint stock company that was fully privatized three years later. The majority share is owned by the consortium of financial investors - the companies Expandia a.s. and Milestone Partners a.s.
GUMOTEX is the biggest industrial enterprise in the town and in the region of Břeclav with the turnover approx. two milliards of Czech Crowns. More than one half of the production is being exported to foreign countries, mainly to the USA and European Union countries. The company employs approx. 1200 employees.
GUMOTEX is certified according to quality standards ISO 9001, and furthermore according to ISO/TS 16949 that is applied in the automotive parts production mainly. Additionally, GUMOTEX is certified according to the standards ISO 14001 proving the implementation and application of the environment management system.
