Basic Treatments

The textiles used are mainly wool, polyester, polyamides, glass fabrics or a combination of these.

For surface treatment, it is normal to use polyurethane paint or coatings based on polyvinylchloride (PVC) not containing phthalates or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). GUMOTEX’s technological possibilities allow for PVC or TPU coatings from 80 g/m2 and painting with polyurethane solutions from 10 g/m2.

Rubber blends for surface treatment or normally based in natural rubber (NR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), chloroprene rubber (CR), bromobutyl rubber (BIIR), ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM) or chlorosulphonated polyethylene (CSM). GUMOTEX’s Technological possibilities allow for the application of a thin rubber coating and impregnation from only 2 g/m2 up to thick several-layer coatings on the base textile. Thicker coatings can be produced only on a foil even without the textile base. Surface treated materials can be supplied in both raw and vulcanized states.

The finished material can be cut and delivered as discs of any width from 20 mm up to a maximum weight of 25 kg. The width of the altered material, the appearance of the surface, the lap length and packaging can be adapted to individual needs.
